Cobblestone school District 3, in the hamlet of Ionia was built in 1845. Long gone, it was located along what is now Elton Road just south of the intersection with County Route 14. It was demolished about 1914. Richard Palmer blog.
Editor's Note: The following article states that the back wall of the cobblestone school collapsed in 1902 and new school was erected at the same location. The assumption would be that the cobblestone school was razed prior the new school construction. Classes where held elsewhere during the construction.
